Rosters in these positions can include a 9-day fortnight and a 12-hour continuous shift roster but exact roster details can differ depending on the opportunity presented to you.

As a Trades Assistant, Serviceperson, you will utilise your previous experience working on either fixed plant or heavy mobile equipment to support our mechanical tradespeople within the mine or refinery. Your daily tasks will include:

- Utilising your mechanical knowledge to assist fixed plant or mobile maintenance tradespeople with mechanical repairs and maintenance.
- Efficient servicing of the equipment by performing minor maintenance tasks, including any major overhauls within your work area. At mining, this will include duties in the main workshop, driving service trucks and refuelling machines and assisting with servicing.
- Operating and maintaining efficient utilisation of plant mobile equipment eg. Cranes, forklifts, bobcats, and motor vehicles
- Demonstrating leadership in areas of safe work practices and housekeeping.

As a Refinery Worker, you will be accountable for assisting with the daily planning, servicing and maintenance of plant process equipment in a safe, cost-effective manner. You will ensure that the impact of equipment downtime on Refinery operations is minimised by:

- Efficient servicing of the equipment by performing minor maintenance tasks
- Operating and maintaining efficient utilisation of plant mobile equipment e.g. forklifts, bobcats, and motor vehicles
- Providing training and assisting in the development of Standard Operating Procedures
- Demonstrating leadership in areas of safe work practices and housekeeping.
- Ensuring interactions with the other operating areas, departments and support services are optimised by framing communication in the correct manner and using the correct channels.

From time-to-time you may be required to assist the crew with providing on-the-job training to others. This will ensure the achievement of shift safety and environmental objectives.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

- C or HR class manual driver’s licence
- Tickets such as Crane, Bobcat, Rigging, Dogging, Forklift, EWP, Skid steer-loader licences
- High Risk Licenses: Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry
- Strong commitment to safety
- Problem solving abilities, enabling you to make recommendations for operational or equipment improvements
- Good mechanical comprehension
- A good grasp of computer systems in a work environment
- A high level of self-sufficiency and initiative
- Well-developed communication skills
- Ability to excel in a dynamic team environment
- Excellent attention to detail

In addition to this, it is favourable for you to have:

- Certificate of lower Secondary Education, completion of year 10 as a minimum
- Previous experience working on a mine site, industrial site or process plant, working to routine schedules
- Exposure working on crushers, conveyors, stackers and reclaimers
- C6 Crane Licence
