**Description**:
EKC Construction is looking to hire an experience Blocklayer in the greater Sydney area. Our business is working on some major projects around Sydney and NSW.

The position of Blocklayer will be responsible building retaining walls, boundary walls and screen wall and ensuring all aspects of Safe Workplace and Environmental Practices. Day to day duties include:
**Requirements**:

- **Must have Blocklayer experience within the construction industry.**:

- Proficient in all aspects of Safe Workplace and Environmental Practices
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence with own transport.
- Construction Induction White card.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks in a safe manner.
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Attention to detail to ensure structural integrity, building code compliance and high quality of workmanship.
- review construction drawings and blueprints to understand layout, dimensions, and specifications
- layblocks in a structured manner ensuring they are level
- mix mortar or cement to the required consistency to ensure strong adhesion between blocks or bricks.
- cut or shape blocks to fit specific sizes or to create patterns in the wall.
- ensure the structure is built according to the design, checking for plumb (vertical alignment) and level (horizontal alignment) throughout the process.
- build place reinforcement bars (rebar) in walls, foundations, or other structures to strengthen the building.
- Carry out Pre-Starts and report any faults or operating issues.
- Operate all plant and equipment in a safe manner.
- Liaise and take direction from Site Supervisor, Clients and Project Site Managers.
- Handling jobs by yourself and working unsupervised at times
- Problem solving and leadership skills.
- Strong work ethic and great attitude.

You will be working on various jobs at sites around Sydney and surrounding areas in New South Wales.

This is a full-time position of employment with annual remuneration of $79,040 per annum plus Superannuation.

To be deemed qualified for this role, you should have minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Blocklayer

Pay: $79,040.00 per year

Supplementary Pay:
