**About the Role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic full-time Spatial Applications Analyst to join our GIS team working with an established geospatial system using a range of spatial tools to provide support and advice on geographical information, maintain GIS databases and be creative in developing innovative GIS solutions to support corporate business and management projects and priorities**.**
You will be responsible for:
As a spatial systems officer, you will undertake project requirements such as data modelling, manipulation, visualisation and development of professional cartographic map products and provide accurate and timely spatial information using GIS that is appropriate to the needs of Council.
Additionally, you will have experience in undertaking business analysis activities such as consultation, process mapping, project management and documentation development as well as change management principles.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geospatial Science, Geomatics and Database systems and working knowledge of Land Ownership and Titles system.
- Proven experience of GIS software (QGIS, MapInfo and IntraMaps) and related programming including FME, ogr2ogr and GDAL.
- Proven experience of SQL Server spatial databases, manipulating and statistical analysis of data and integrated systems with a working knowledge and understanding of robust data management principles.
- Demonstrated experience in process documentation and creating data flow and modelling diagrams.
- Ability to show initiative and have demonstrated an innovative approach in providing effective solutions to requests utilising spatial information.
- Demonstrate clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with ability to readily gain the confidence of others and set high standards of professionalism in communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and positively contribute to the team.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
