**About the Role**

Join the SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast team as a Aquarist / Shark Dive Co-ordinator, where you will play a pivotal role in the operation of our shark dive interactive program and care for our marine life in and out of the water. You'll ensure everything runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, creating an unforgettable experience for our guests.

Reporting into the Displays Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Displays Supervisor by both conducting dive experiences and caring for the marine life at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast.

Further responsibilities include:

- Oversee operations of the Shark Dive Experience (SDX), including managing corporate groups and dive sessions.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety within the SEA LIFE facility and manage the safety of both team members and guest divers.
- Assess and handle medical eligibility and safety concerns of guest divers.
- Act as a role model to motivate and guide guests and team members.
- Manage the flow of divers, troubleshoot issues, and maintain clear communication with the Displays Supervisor.
- Oversee the maintenance and safe handling of dive equipment.
- Assist in training shark dive instructors and coordinate administrative tasks related to the dive program.
- Drive sales of SDX photos, footage, and merchandise while maintaining high customer satisfaction scores.
- Maintain and promote the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry, monitoring the health of the marine species involved in your role.
- Serve as a custodian of the marine environment within the dive areas, implementing sustainable practices and educating guests on conservation efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

**You will**

To be successful in this pivotal role, you will have:

- A current First Aid and Oxygen Administration Certification.
- SCUBA Dive Instructor certification.
- Proven experience in a similar role or environment with strong leadership and public speaking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in aquatic animal husbandry would be desirable.

The following qualifications would be an advantage:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Zoology or Biology or an equivalent Animal Care Diploma
