**About the role**

This position is responsible for providing high-level administrative support in a professional and timely manner to support the office of the Mayor and Councillors. On a daily basis you will (but not limited to):

- Conduct research as directed by the Mayor and prepare Mayoral Minutes as needed
- Organise and execute relevant civic events and receptions
- Ensure the overall smooth running of the Office of the Mayor and Councillors, prioritising urgent matters and working collaboratively with relevant staff to provide the appropriate resolution.
- Respond to Councillor requests, conduct research, and compile relevant background information to support policy and strategy development
- Provide backup executive support to the General Manager’s Office when required
- Liaise with Directors, Managers, and other Council staff to address and, where possible, resolve issues raised by the community and other stakeholders
- Work closely with the General Manager’s team to foster a collaborative, motivated, and positive working environment

**About the person**
- Relevant qualifications in Business Administration and/or experience in a similar role (E.G. EA support at a senior executive level or Board of Directors)
- Extensive experience in providing executive assistance at a senior level
- Highly developed computer skills
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- A sound understanding of the business of local government and demonstrated ability to work within a political environment will be highly regarded.
