Electrical Supervisor

Spotswood, VIC, AU, 3015**Electrical Site Supervisor REFCL**:
John Holland is seeking a Site Supervisor to join our team based in Melbourne, to work on the Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiting (REFCL) Project. This project is a series of new HV substation buildings being delivered for Metro Trains Melbourne.

As a Site Supervisor you will coordinate on-site teams to deliver relevant scopes of work in accordance with project plans and specifications to achieve effective performance in accordance with detailed short-term programs and schedules within the designated time and budget. Implement site safety, quality and environment control and identify and assess potential risks.
- Responsibilities of this role;
- Coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams, trades, electrical labour resources, and multi-disciplinary subcontractors to achieve outcomes within time and budget.
- Coordinate and manage personnel, resourcing (labour, plant and material) and trades, including through relevant subcontractor’s representative where appropriate.
- Manage and coordinate site amenities and facilities
- Manage and take leadership responsibility & accountability in health, quality, safety and environment management.
- Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term construction programs and plan daily/weekly production work against short-term programs
- Work collaboratively with the Project & Site engineers to plan, manage, and deliver planned works.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
- Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the relevant site members
- Ensure compliance of commercial and financial costs including budgets
- Identify work practices, methods and activities that can be altered or improved for safety and efficiency
- Read and understand plans and drawings, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementing of final designs
- Assist the project engineers with managing contractual mechanisms of subcontractors
- Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture.
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
- To be successful in this key role, you must have;
- Trade Qualification or similar
- Qualifications and training, e.g. Diploma, Building/Construction, Project Management
- 2-5 years previous electrical construction experience in a similar role. Experience managing non-electrical trades and subcontractors
- Technical competency and understanding in the area that supervising - Technical competency in Electrical
- Skill in review of design documents, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
- Leading Hand experience
- People and Performance Management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
