Niño Early Learning Adventures currently has an opportunity for an **experienced Kitchen Assistant/Chef Assistant **to join the team at our Mickleham early learning centre on a permanent part-time basis, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Assistant/Chef Assistant with a passion for creating high quality, nutritious meals and snacks to join a fun loving team in a role that offers great work/life balance.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Working alongside our Chef to prepare & present a wide variety of nutritional and cost effective meals suitable for children 0 to 6 years of age.
- Manage allergy and intolerance requirements with food preparation
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in line with Food Safety Program.
- Adhere to food safety standards at all times, while having a strong sense of children's nutritional and dietary requirements along with the understanding of Nutrition Australian and Niño ELA's guidelines, policies and procedures.

**Required skills and experience**:

- Previous experience as a Chef Assistant/Kitchen Assistant is essential, preferably in an early learning/childcare setting.
- Previous experience in a Children’s Services environment will be highly regarded.
- Commercial cookery qualification highly regarded.
- Must have a passion for creating healthy and nutritious meals for children.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Current 'Food Safety Supervisor' certificate (suitable for early learning centres)
- Must have, or be willing to obtain a Current Working with Children Check.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain a First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis certificate.
