**Global Partner Solutions (GPS)** organization’s mission is to build and sell intelligent cloud and intelligent edge solutions with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more. GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft. Building on the GPS mission, the Channel Sales Manager role is key to Microsoft's channel management strategy.
The
**Channel Sales Manager** leads a team of specialists operating across the SMC/SMB segments. The team’s prime responsibility is to curate and connect partners with unmanaged customers to drive growth in customer acquisition, consumption and usage. The Channel Sales Manager works across prioritized partners in the SMC/SMB segments to understand the market opportunities, drive partner enablement and activation, and works with Specialist Teams to connect our partners and customers.

**Responsibilities**:
**The purpose of this role**:
- Lead the team and define targets for your team members in line with Partner goals, and SMC-Corporate and SMC-Scale sales plans, use data insights and triggers to focus execution and target customer acquisition.
- Guide the team to execution through partner demand generation campaigns. Nurture inbound sharing quality, drive partners’ Solution Area pipeline, and support high value deals.
- Coach teams to drive partners’ co-sell engagement with SMC-C Teams, deal coaching and assist partners with Solution Area programs and resources to support sales impact.
- Guide your team to work with SMB Sales Manager and Partner Marketing to define and deliver through partner demand generation campaigns, and drive Solution Area sales impact.
- Influence Microsoft resource funding to SMB Partners. Drive execution and performance of swarming opportunities by Solution Area accountability in SMB Customers.
**Qualifications**:
**What skills do you need to have?**
There will be many opportunities for you to learn and grow into this role and Microsoft. However, to be able to best deliver on the purpose of this role, these are the core skills and experiences you should have on day one:
- Experience leading a team and engagement across various key stakeholders
- Understanding of Cloud sales and channel ecosystem especially in small and medium business
- Ability to ascertain the required partner capacity and capability in Australia to ensure maximum partner impact on customer acquisition, renewals and consumption
- Understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies or equivalent.
- Several years of experience - core sales, channel sales, SMB and scale model experience, business development
- Strong Solution Development across Technical and Business requirements suitable for SMC customers
- Experience with the cloud partner ecosystem, including System Integrators, Independent Software Vendors and Telcos
- Demonstrated organizational, project management and execution skills
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 5+ years partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
