We're a well-respected not-for-profit that's been serving society's most vulnerable for more than 160 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for the 40,000+ people who rely on our person-centred support. And now, we're extending our reach and impact even further.

Your opportunity

Make a real difference in the lives of older people as a Chaplain within our Residential Care team.

As a Chaplain, you will offer Christ-centred pastoral care to residents, their families, and staff—supporting their spiritual needs and overall wellbeing. You’ll be part of a supportive Chaplaincy team, working alongside both ordained and non-ordained Anglican ministers, in a ministry that is intentionally evangelistic and pastorally focused. This is a part-time position (3-4 days a week) working across multiple sites, namely The Terraces (Paddington), St John's Village (Glebe) and Goodwin Village (Woollahra).

With integrity and resilience, you will:
- Provide a Christ-centred pastoral approach to all residents.- Support residents with their spiritual needs, facilitate their ongoing spiritual growth, enable non-Christian residents to explore the Christian faith, and encourage Christian residents in their faith.- When appropriate, provide pastoral support to the families of residents.- Demonstrate effective listening skills with empathy, patience, and compassion.- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and the wider Chaplaincy team.- Lead and work harmoniously with others as part of a collaborative team.- Maintain a personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith.

What you'll bring- Demonstrated competence in pastoral ministry with older persons.- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.- Effective listening skills with empathy, patience, and compassion.- Demonstrated ability to lead and work harmoniously with others.- A personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith.- Theological qualifications (ordination not required, but formal theological or pastoral qualifications are essential).- Current valid driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle.- Current Working with Children Check clearance.

To be successful in this opportunity, you will be an active and keen Christian with formal theological or pastoral qualifications, ideally with experience in pastoral care of seniors. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine pastoral difference in the lives of our residents.
