Mikcomm Communication Pty Ltd is a telecommunication company servicing Perth.
We are seeking an experienced Fibre Telecommunications Linesworker to join our Perth team with DEMONSTRATED experience of the following criteria:
- Installing telecommunications equipment and appliances such as wallboxes and data transmission equipment
- Erecting, testing and maintaining aerial and underground wires and cables, and radio and mobile phone towers (Optus Towers specifically)
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and working areas to determine positioning of equipment installations (Survey’s)
- Locating faults in telecommunications equipment - Fault testing live and dark network
- Using testing equipment using electronic instruments such as OTDR, Talk meters and ILM Kits
- Fibre optic testing, splicing and reporting;
- External jointing/street splicing;
- Sound knowledge of fibre optic/coaxial products;
- Joining cables and sealing sheaths using fibre optic splicing machines
- Install and maintain telecommunications cables, which may include fire optic, coaxial and copper cables
- Installing cables specifically for high profile carriers such as Optus, TPG, AARNet
- Ability to lead multiple small projects and installations simultaneously;
- Produce As-Built documentation as per client specifications
- Record and document installation and repair activities accurately for maintenance and compliance with industry standards
- Updating line diagrams and loss sheets to reflect new installation or changes to existing relevant to maintenance activities
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics;
- Interact with customers to explain work being performed and respond to any concerns they have
- Ensure all live work is completed within designated cutover time frames to ensure services are restored promptly
- Adhering to safety regulations and procedures, particularly when working on live or dangerous equipment
- Using safety gear appropriately and participating in all toolboxes/safety briefings Computer literacy
- A team player with a can-do attitude;
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively autonomously
Current accreditation and previous experience on the following networks is preferred:
- TPG;
- Optus;
- Telstra;
- AARNet;
Required minimum 2-4 years previous experience working in the same industry or similar.
The applicant should be able to work independently and have an eye for detail and sound confidence in the accuracy of their work.
Travel within the state will be required, travel interstate may also be required from time to time.
A current driver’s license and registered open cabling license with the relevant endorsements is mandatory.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
