**About the Role**
SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium are on the search for dive professionals to join the Curatorial team as Shark Dive Instructors. Be part of one of the most amazing diving experiences Melbourne has to offer, swimming alongside a range of amazing shark and ray species in our 2.2 million litre Oceanarium. Reporting to the Lead Diver, you will primarily be responsible for coordinating and conducting introductory SCUBA dives for our guests, giving them a once in a lifetime opportunity
Further responsibilities include:
- Running daily operations, deliver consistently high-quality customer experiences
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant dive industry and company standards
- Delivering safety briefs, completing in-water skill sessions while ensuring the safety of guests, staff and animals
- General administration, including completion of accurate and up to date records for dive logs and customer medical declaration forms
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene of all diving equipment and associated areas
- Manage the efficient and seamless transition of divers through the Shark Dive experience
- The role requires ability to work regular weekends and public holidays; please also note that the roster may vary depending on operational requirements and seasonal demands.
**About You**
To succeed in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Conducting both open water courses and introductory Scuba dives
- You will be a strong communicator
- Easily able to build rapport with guests and colleagues
- The ability to multi-task and be adaptable in the job is crucial
You will need:
- As a minimum hold an Active Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor status (SDI/SSI/PADI or equivalent).
- Current First Aid, CPR & Oxygen Therapy Provider Certificates.
- Equipment maintenance, air filling, and compressor operations are a plus but not essential.
