**Crown Property Services** are seeking an experienced, dedicated and hands-on **Cleaning Supervisor** to lead and support our cleaning operations within a correctional facility in Ararat, Victoria. This is a **hands-on supervisory role**, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of **safety protocols, compliance standards**, and a proactive leadership style.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As the Cleaning Supervisor, you will oversee a team responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment within a secure facility. This includes coordinating daily cleaning activities, ensuring all work is conducted in line with **correctional services regulations, OH&S legislation, and infection control protocols.**

**Key responsibilities**:

- Supervise, train and mentor a team of cleaners, including supporting team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Lead by example through hands-on cleaning duties, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
- Develop and monitor cleaning schedules to ensure compliance with operational and contractual requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and workplace safety.
- Ensure team compliance with all **Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)** **Protocols** and **Department of Justice** **and Community Safety (DJCS)** requirements.
- Collaborate with facility management and custodial staff to maintain secure, respectful and professional working relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, incidents, and compliance reporting.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial cleaning, including in a team leader or supervisory role.
- Experience in working in a secure or institutional setting preferred _(but not essential)._
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team in a high-risk environment.
- Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for communicating with staff, security officers, and team members.
- Strong working knowledge of cleaning protocols, chemical safety and infection control.
- Knowledge of infection control and waste disposal processes.
- Ability to work autonomously in a structured and compliant environment.
- Physically fit with the ability to carry out manual tasks.
- Committed to upholding safety, security, and confidentiality at all times.
- Able to document and report incidents or maintenance needs clearly and accurately.
- Must be comfortable working in a secure, high-surveillance environment.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- National Police Check (current or willing to obtain)
- Must pass the Precinct’s Security Clearance and Background Check
- Current driver’s license.
- Work rights in Australia.
