**Schedule**: Ability to participate in a 24/7 roster. Various shifts between Monday to Sunday and Public Holidays, as required.

**About the Role**:

- We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include the below working in the Specimen Reception Area and in the Laboratory assisting Scientists, but not be limited to, the following:

- Performing all tasks relevant to a particular shift, including specimen reception, registration and data entry
- Managing all aspects of slide and block storage and filing, as well as slide printing
- Equipment cleaning, including biohazard cabinet, centrifuge & work benches
- Upholding quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures
- Complying with the Occupational Health & Safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others in the workplace; and
- Satisfying the requirements of customers, both internal and external, through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels

**About You**:

- To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

- Specimen processing and data entry experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work as a team
- Understanding the importance of following procedures accurately
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential
- Experience with specimen transport, histology processing, microtomy, embedding, and staining, will be an advantage
