**About the Job**:
**Key responsibilities of the job**

Conducting vehicle trimmer maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification within time frames specified in Work Orders to the required Work Standards and the standard detailed in material-specific instructions.

This may include:

- Installing, repairing and replacing the exterior trim of vehicles, such as door trims of vehicles using hand tools and portable power tools so that proper wrapping techniques are applied
- Installing, repairing and replacing the interior trim of vehicles, such as seats, linings, floor coverings, and door armrests of a vehicle using hand tools and portable power tools so that proper customised upholstery techniques are applied
- Modifying the seats, upholstery, roof and door linings, and floor coverings of a vehicle and assembling line vehicles to special requirements
- Cutting and shaping panels of sheet metal, aluminium and reinforced plastic and attaching them to frameworks using hand and power tools
- Selecting and cutting pieces of fabric, vinyl and leather and sewing pieces together using heavy-duty sewing machines
- Preparing framework sections in metal, wood, fibreglass and other materials using shaping machines and cutting and welding equipment
- Measuring to determine the location of other fixtures, such as curtains, handles, signal cords, and door hardware, using gauges, and securing fixtures in place, using screwdrivers and portable power tools
- Attaching door trims, rubber seals, locks and handles; bolting door tracks and posts to the side of the car, using an impact wrench; guiding door into tracks; using hoist, positioning and fastening windows in casings; using screwdrivers
- Bolting, screwing, riveting and welding sections together to form complete frameworks and ensuring that all bolts and clips are installed back to a factory standard or how they arrived
- Manufacturing work according to drawings and sketches
- Re-assembling all the vehicle parts ensuring the vehicle can function correctly
- Checking all electronics (lights, mirrors, sensors etc.) are functioning correctly once the wrapping process has been completed
- Taking notice/record of any broken/missing parts and notifying Manager, reporting all warranty requests to the manager and taking note of recurring problems

**Have the right education**
- Diploma in the light vehicle and motorcycle repairs & maintenance or Diploma in the vehicle trimming
- Apprenticeship in light vehicle repairs, & maintenance, vehicle fitting and vehicle parts, vehicle body & paint or vehicle trimming

**Are well-trained and experienced**
- Have at least 3-year experience in the automotive industry as a vehicle repairer, vehicle trimmer or vehicle bodybuilder

**Possess the suitable knowledge**
- Knowledge of inspecting light vehicles using prescribed methods in the automotive environment
- Knowledge of materials, fabrics, tools, and measuring devices used in the automotive environment (as a part of your formal education)
- Knowledge of supporting job roles within the automotive industry

**Possess the suitable skills**
- You will demonstrate skills in inspecting light vehicles using prescribed methods in the automotive environment
- You will demonstrate skills in materials, fabrics, tools, and measuring devices used in the automotive environment (as a part of your formal education)
- You will demonstrate skills in health, safety in the automotive environment
- You will excel in manual and practical work

**Working conditions**

As a full-time Vehicle Trimmer, you will work regular Monday to Friday hours (38 hours). You may need to work evenings or weekends in order to meet deadlines and work on projects.

**Remuneration**

$70,000 excl. superannuation
