Full Time Barista

We are Quest Coffee Roasters, a long established espresso bar and certified organic coffee roastery with a loyal community following in Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast. We sell coffee beans and products in store, online, and wholesale. We are known for our top quality coffee, delicious in house baked cakes and treats, and friendly café service. We have a full time barista job opening available for a skilled barista at our Burleigh Heads Cafe or Roastery. There are also opportunities for someone to learn and contribute in other areas of the business including eCommerce and Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers
- Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
- Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu
- Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, macchiato, latte, flat white and cappuccino
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations

ABOUT YOUPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 2 or more years experience as a professional barista
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of coffee growing regions and brewing methods
- A strong understanding of health and safety

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in Australia
- Availability to work at least 1 weekend day each week
- Flexibility to work opening (from 5am) and closing (to 4pm) café shifts if required
- Loves coffee and tea
- Own transport to and from work

NICE TO HAVE
- IT / programming experience
- Marketing / photography / or writing experience
