The YMCA offers classes for children from crawling age through to 13 years, youth classes from 14 years up, and adult classes. Our programs encourage children to participate in a safe and structured environment. Gymnasts can progress from Kinder Gym through to National Competition levels based on age and skill level. We have a variety of gymnastics programs for different levels to suit everyone's needs.

**About the work space**

YMCA Bowen Hills Gymnastics has taught thousands of children and hundreds of adults the fun-filled sport of gymnastics. Classes begin from crawling age and are perfect for all skill levels. We offer Kinder Gym, Traditional Gymnastics (Steps), Competitive Gymnastics, casual Gym Play, Adult Gymnastics and Adult Tumbling.

**The GIG**

You’ll deliver energetic women’s artistic gymnastics classes while leveraging your personality and initiative. You’ll grow your knowledge under the wing of our Competitive Leader and be empowered to shape strong, flexible, determined gymnasts. Own the role and use your initiative and resourceful ideas to help gymnasts experience break throughs.

The role involves:

- Prepping and setting up gymnastics equipment, welcoming participants and warm up
- Ensuring adequate and safe use of matting
- Teach gymnastics through lessons plans
- Prepare gymnasts for testing or competition
- Pack up of equipment and tidy up after sessions
- Safety first - adhere to all safety procedures
- Maintain a coaching accreditation

**The need-to-haves**
- Enthusiasm and drive for creating outstanding and engaging classes
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in coaching gymnastics at level 5 and 6
- Gymnastics coaching qualifications (minimum of advanced qualification)
- Current Technical Membership with Gymnastics Australia;
- Experience in coaching level 4 - 6 at competitions
- Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000

**The good-to-haves**
- Current certification for First Aid and CPR or we’ll pay for these once you start
