We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
**About the opportunity**
We have a 15-month, full-time fixed term opportunity for an experienced **Demand & Merchandise Inventory Planner** to join our team. This is a pivotal role in orchestrating an efficient inventory management system to drive sales and optimise resources.
**What you’ll deliver with us**
Supporting our corporate, online and licensed networks, you will manage inventory holding and carrying costs, unit level planning, and maintain stock levels in distribution centres. Using grading and segmentation techniques, as Planner you will ensure efficient inventory levels and high in-stock rates. This is an inherently cross-functional position, requiring robust engagement with various stakeholders across the organisation.
**You’ll also**
- Provide a forecast unit inventory plan based on a demand forecast to support efficiency in the supply chain
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of finished inventories ($8m+) and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of physical inventories including all obsolescence and write off processes.
- Support and develop category reporting and analysis for the planning & category management function
- Day to day management of warehouse and store in stocks whilst driving effective use of working capital.
**About you**
We are looking for an experienced professional with an inventory, merchandising, production, warehouse or FMCG background. You will have knowledge and understanding of retail inventory management functions, processes, and systems. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement as well as communicating with, influencing, and advising key external suppliers to achieve desired outcomes.
**You’ll also need**
- Min 5 years relevant production planning or merchandise planning experience in a multi category environment.
- Demonstrated experience sales, margin and inventory budgeting and forecasting in a retailer or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience planning to support a retail promotional program.
- Broad understanding of the supply chain process.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in managing a broad stakeholder group.
**How we’ll deliver for you**
- Join one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse workforces in Australia, where we’re all ages, genders and come from all walks of life.
- We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They’re the TIES that bind our team together.
- Immerse yourself in the AP Way - where every single team member partakes in a learning module to help understand the vital role we play in delivering on our strategy and purpose.
