Paralegal / Graduate Lawyer - Aps4 / Aps 5

**Position overview**

Allygroup is seeking paralegals and graduate lawyers - APS4-5 level, join a new federal government agency. This is an opportunity to gain experience in professional services and create long-lasting contacts in a government agency. The position is in a fast-paced and exciting environment dealing with numerous complex pieces of legislation. The agency may consider contract secondments or placements for this role.

Our client provides regulatory services to ensure a secure, reliable and affordable energy future for Australia through monitoring, reporting, enforcement and compliance.

Core Responsibilities include:

- Assisting and supporting the agency in matters relating to the _Competition and Consumer Act 2010, _National Electricity Law, National Gas Law and National Energy Retail Law, and
- Providing assistance to Senior Lawyers.
- Ability to conduct assessments and identify items of significance in complex matters
- Assist in the management of subpoena, notices and other paralegal and administrative tasks
- Ability to interpret complex legislation
- Working on complex and routine matters daily
- Facilitating excellent legal outcomes
- Managing time and working to tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
