**Who we’re looking for**:
**What you’ll be doing**:

- Maintain and execute operational security processes to respond to incidents in line with VA policies and standards.
- Monitor the environment to identify security events or changes to the security risk profile.
- Work with MSSP resources to support to 24/7 security monitoring.
- Perform incident response and internal investigations as required.
- Provide input into metrics and detailed reporting on security events and changes to the security risk profile.
- Maintain security technologies appropriate to the environment and security control requirements.
- Work with external partners to carry out regular penetration testing of the environment.
- Support routine security exercises and internal Red Team events as required.
- Support compliance reporting and audit processes.
- Consistently review customer and stakeholder feedback to ensure solutions and strategies deliver to required outcomes.
- Collaborate with the broader Information Security Team to raise the maturity of VA’s information Security.

**You will be great in this role if you**:

- Proven experience as a Security Analyst in a complex corporate environment (essential).
- Experience implementing and operating security controls in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility and Security Toolset.
- Use and implementation of SIEM tools, such as Azure Sentinel, Splunk, LogRhythm or Exabeam.
- Skills in event analysis and identification of security threats.
- Ability to operate security controls to monitor and address risks and emerging threats.
- Knowledge of industry risk management frameworks including ISO27001 and NIST.
- Information security technology including WAP, DLP, IDS/IPs, IDAM, SIEM, Antimalware.
- Skills in conducting incident response and investigations.
- Ability to drive incident response playbooks using common scripting languages like Python.
- Proven ability in building positive stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Tertiary qualification in IT Security or similar (ideal).
- Security Certifications such as CISSP etc.
