Join a leading ecology and evolutionary biology research team to uncover the role of ecological interaction networks as predictors of invasive species impacts on ecosystem functioning and in ecological restoration

THE ROLE

The School of Natural Sciences at Macquarie University is seeking an enthusiastic and independent Postdoctoral Research Fellow in ecology or evolutionary biology to contribute to an Australian Research Council-funded project. This project investigates the functional network ecologies of plants and soil microorganisms, using data from field and laboratory experiments that include functional trait measurements, plant and microbial physiological data, and genomic data.

The aim of the project is to link the architecture of multi-trophic ecological interaction networks to the impacts of invasive plant species on ecosystem multifunctionality to inform approaches for ecological restoration.

We are looking for someone who is a clear and proactive communicator, who works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team, and who is adaptable, well-organised, and motivated by scientific inquiry. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic research environment and contribute to impactful ecological research.
