**Hospital Medical Officer - Orthopaedic Surgery PRE SET**

2025 Training Year commencing February 2025 - HM13- HM14

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

**Unit Description**:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of two level-one trauma centres in Victoria and deals with large volumes of pelvic and acetabular fractures. The Orthopaedic Department is the busiest Department in the Hospital and an integral part of a Level 1 Trauma Centre. There are daily outpatient clinics, theatre lists and ward rounds. There is a weekly academic meeting involving case presentations and discussion topics. This is followed by a radiology review meeting. The Orthopaedic Department is situated on the 7th Floor, with access to modern computers and the Internet. A full departmental library is also provided with access to all current journals.

- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- Ability to work in a team
