**Employment Status**:12-month full time Registrar position commencing February 2026 (2 positions available).

**Eligibility**: Applications are currently being accepted from Continuing Advanced Trainees in General Medicine who are seeking to undertake 12 months of Core Training at an alternative health service. Further recruitment rounds for other trainee groups will open in July.

The General Medicine Accredited Advanced Trainee positions are the key point of contact for medical advice on the hospital site. While the position can present challenges, we believe it offers a highly rewarding experience.

This position is designed to offer broad and valuable clinical exposure. Daily consultant-led ward rounds are a core component, with the expectation that the Advanced Trainee will lead some of these under appropriate consultant supervision, depending on their level of experience and competence. The Advanced Trainee will also attend subspecialty outpatient clinics—allocated according to individual training needs—which may include Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Neurology and Peri-operative Medicine.

Bendigo Health is dedicated to fostering the professional development of junior doctors. Mentorship and continuous learning are key components of this role. Active participation in Grand Rounds, Journal Club, and Basic Physician Training (BPT) teaching sessions is expected and incorporated into the roster. Attendance—whether in person or virtually—at Austin/Northern Advanced Trainee teaching and Victorian IMG (VIMG) sessions is strongly encouraged and fully supported.
