**About the Role**
As Assistant Manager, you'll be at the heart of our Sydney operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day management, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and upholding safety and operational standards.
This role also includes stepping up as the acting Location Manager when needed, taking full responsibility for operations, team leadership, and customer satisfaction during those times. You’ll have strong support from the Location Manager, National Operations Manager, and an outstanding local crew.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Team Leadership**: Recruit, train, and motivate a casual crew, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and fun.
- **Guest Services**: Set the tone for outstanding customer experiences by leading engaging briefings and demonstrations.
- **Safety Oversight**: Manage safety compliance, troubleshoot operational issues, and respond effectively to any waterway incidents.
- **Fleet Operations**: Oversee boat departures and docking, conduct patrols in support vessels, and ensure fleet cleanliness and upkeep.
- **Acting Leadership**: Step into the Location Manager role during their absence to ensure seamless operations and team coordination.
- **Local Engagement**: Drive awareness of GoBoat in the Sydney community and help grow customer loyalty.
- **Administrative Duties**: Complete daily operational tasks, such as stock control and activity reports.
**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
**Must-Haves**:
- Coxswain 3 or Exemption 38 qualification (mandatory).
- Current First Aid certification.
- A strong background in customer service.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
- Reliable transport.
- Availability for weekend shifts.
- Passion for the water and eco-tourism.
**Nice-to-Haves**:
- Experience in marine tourism or hospitality.
- Technical troubleshooting abilities.
- Previous leadership roles with a demonstrated ability to inspire a team.
