**About the role**
This is a Head of Nutrition will be responsible for the NSWIS dietetic support strategy and will provide technical leadership and performance management to NSWIS Sport Dietitian’s. This role will also deliver world class dietetics support to selected NSWIS sport programs. Working closely with the NSWIS Manager, Sport Science and collaboratively with the NSWIS Sport Science Leadership Team, this role will contribute to leading and driving initiatives across the NSWIS Sport Science Department to improve service delivery and performance impact.
The contract period for this role is up to 31 December 2028 in line with the Olympic cycle attracting a salary range of $132,993 - $145,461 plus superannuation.
This is an identified position requiring a Working with Children Check.

**About you**
- You will have a proven leadership background along with strong evidence of delivering world class dietetics support to elite athletes
- You will have a proven track record of delivering and leading the delivery of dietetics support to improve athlete performance, recovery, training availability and health.
- You will have a vast understanding of the energy requirements for a large range of sports and knowledge of training and competition demands, traditions, trends and health implications for a range of different sports.
- You will have a strong understanding of the role and impact of different sport science staff and how to collaborate with each of them to assist in improving athletic performance from a nutritional perspective.
- You will have exceptional and contemporary knowledge of designing and implementing a world class performance supplements and vitamins program that is Sport Integrity Australia and WADA compliant.
- You will have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible in the delivery of nutritional information to athletes and coaches.
- You will have excellent time management skills and be resilient and adaptable to high pressure environments and changing demands.
- You will have over 6 years of experience in high performance sport with at least 2 of those years successfully spent leading and developing staff.
- The successful applicant will have significant experience delivering nutritional support at major competitions, training camps and Benchmark Events.
**Essential Requirements**
- Undergraduate degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from a DAA accredited course
- Master’s degree in nutrition/Dietetics from a DAA accredited course
- Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD)
- Accredited Sports Dietitian and Member of Sports Dietitian Australia (AccSD)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) Anti-Doping Fundamentals and Annual Update
- Working with Children Check
- Valid Drivers License
