**About the role**:
Reporting directly to the Executive Manager of Customer Experience, The Head of Development Services is responsible for establishing an industry leading, commercial, effective and customer-oriented Development Services branch, that provides a streamlined and efficient approvals process while building relationships with developers, consultants and peak industry bodies.

The Head of Development Services balances being an advocate for development customers, while also ensuring Unitywater can support sustainable growth in the Moreton Bay, Noosa, and Sunshine Coast regions.
The Manager will excel in delivering expert technical advice in infrastructure delivery across Unitywater’s region whilst maintaining safe and reliable water and waste services for the community.

This role will manage a team dedicated to enabling the economic growth of the region by providing timely and quality approvals for connections to Unitywater's water supply and sewerage networks. With proactive and impeccable leadership, they will balance quality and pragmatism, making fast but reliable decisions, always seeking to challenge the status quo to achieve innovative and optimal outcomes for the region, the industry and Unitywater.

**About you**:
You will be an experienced leader who is strategic, customer-centric and outcomes-focused with a strong track record within the water sector, or an aligned area within the market. You will be able to demonstrate leadership in driving a high-performance culture and operational excellence within a team.
**Furthermore, your experience will include**:

- Demonstrated experience in transforming teams, change management, building constructive cultures and developing high performing teams.
- Proven leadership experience and achievements within a local government or utility environment in one or more of the following areas
- land use planning; infrastructure planning; development assessment; legislation/legal and governance; business change and improvement projects or general management
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyse complex situations, and make informed decisions that align with the long-term goals and objectives of Unitywater.
- Builds and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including customers, government entities and industry partners with an ability to influence, negotiate and constructively resolve conflict.
- Strategic commercial acumen including contracts management and performance tracking, business knowledge and understanding.
- Risk management experience and ability to implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
