**Our Opportunity**
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is based in Lidcombe.
Main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Enhance the areas of responsibility by adopting excellence in hygiene, operational and safety standards by focusing on good manufacturing practices including housekeeping, reducing waste, personal hygiene and conformance to procedures.
- Ensure that relevant documentation relating to the areas of responsibility are maintained to preset standards including completing any corrective actions.
- Formulation of milk/dairy products according to specifications
- CIP cleaning of all equipment to maintain hygiene and quality standards.
- Sterilisation of plant/processors, tanks/vats and associated lines
- Testing of product.
- Assist (where required) in the formulation of recipes.
- Cleaning dry goods store and mixing rooms associated with the plant.
- Have knowledge of and assist towards maintaining regulatory, company and quality systems (eg completion of operating logs, downtime recording, CIP testing/recording, log sheers etc).
- Organise and ordering of ingredients as required.
- Raw material sampling.
- Minimise wastage including product, packaging, process inputs, time and chemicals and to report any excessive wastage to the Co-ordinator.
- Notify Co-ordinator, maintenance and laboratory of defective product or equipment malfunction (depending on situation).
- Isolate and identify defective product.
- Record equipment checks and malfunctions when they occur.
- Ensure that all safety/quality checks are performed as per instructions.
- Ensure that products for rework are handled and reprocessed according to verbal and written instructions.
- Meet required production schedules. Any variation from the schedule must be recorded and reason for variation to be given.
- Ensure that all start-up and production changeovers are performed according to verbal and written procedures.
- Report any abnormal problems which may occur and could disrupt the smooth running of the operation.
To be the successful applicant for the role you should have
- Previous experience in machine or process operation, preferably in a food /
dairy manufacturing environment
- High level of attention to detail, good fault finding / trouble shooting skill
- Strong focus on quality and hygiene
- Understanding of GMP and HACCP principles
- Good communication skills
- Physically fit
- Food processing qualifications (advantageous)
