**About the Role**:
We currently have a vacancy for a **Principal Hydrographer** to join the Water Science and Monitoring branch.
**The Principal Hydrographer conducts surveillance and survey work in rivers and streams in accordance with work programs and priorities of the Department and across the State. The Principal Hydrographer has lead responsibility for conducting a range of technical duties associated with design, installation and maintenance of technical equipment along with the collection of valid surface water data and overseeing the entry of that data into the appropriate information systems. The Principal Hydrographer provides specialist advice, reports and support to scientific officers and external clients (including Landscape Boards), local government and public enquiries on a range of matters and issues related to Hydrographic methodologies and field work results

**Contract**: Contract for up to 12 months
**Essential Qualifications**:
**A tertiary qualification in Natural Resources, Hydrography or equivalent
**Special Conditions**:
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- A current class “C" driver's licence is essential.
- Some intrastate and remote area travel is required, including travel in light aircraft.
- Some out of hours work will be required.
- Boat licence and Coxswain certificate is desirable.
**Remuneration**: TGO3 - $84,159 min - $88,852 max p.a.
