We are Artim's Barber Shop, a modern but traditional barbering service located in the very heart of Perth's CBD.

Due to the ever-increasing popularity or our services, an opening for a professional barber is now available;
either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident and satisfy all the criteria below; please read very carefully all this ad until the end;
able to show at least 2 years of full-time experience as barber;
able to demonstrate the following types of experience:
Proper training: a Certificate III in hairdressing or its overseas equivalent at an accredited institution including hands-on training and knowledge of hair care, styling, and grooming techniques; Three years or more of relevant experience may substitute the formal qualification;
Technical skills: Proficiency and excellent knowledge of the tools of the trade, such as scissors, clippers, trimmers, razors, shaving cream, shaving brushes, combs, brushes, barber cape, neck strips, spray bottle, hairdryer, clipper oil, disinfectant, styling products (gel, pomade, wax, etc.), towels, cleaning supplies, mirror, barber chair, tool storage (cabinet or cart) and techniques (layering, texturing, fading, etc.) to execute a range of haircuts and styles;
Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, understand their needs, and provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Hygiene and sanitation: Knowledge of proper sanitation practices to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients, including disinfecting tools and equipment, maintaining a clean workstation, and following relevant state regulations.

Time management: Ability to efficiently schedule and manage appointments while ensuring each client receives adequate attention and care.

Continuous education: Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and techniques through ongoing professional development and learning.

Creativity and adaptability: Capability to tailor services to suit individual client’s needs and preferences while demonstrating creativity and flexibility in adapting to different hair types, textures, and styles.

About the role:
This is a full-time position, 40 hrs per week, 5 days (Mon. to Fri) per week;
occasional weekend work may happen;
salary offered is $ 60,000.00 per year + superannuation;
General criteria:
hard worker;
strong work ethic;
must currently reside in Perth or surroundings or must be available to relocate at short notice if successful;
capable of working as part of a team and autonomously;
must be able to provide a clean police record (including overseas, if that's the case);
note that smoking and the drinking of alcohol is not permitted anywhere anytime within company's premises;
must be able to communicate clearly, efficiently and effectively with other team members and the clientele in English;
fluency in a language other than English will be an element of preference, as we serve an international clientele being located in the heart of Perth’s CBD;
Main tasks of the position offered:
Provide shampoo and basin services

Communicate as part of a salon team

Comply with organisational requirements within a personal services environment

Conduct salon financial transactions

Identify and treat hair and scalp conditions

Maintain and organise tools, equipment and work areas

Create finished hair designs

cleaning work areas and sanitising instruments

Cut hair using over-comb techniques

cutting hair with scissors, clippers and razors

shaving and trimming beards and moustaches

Create graduated haircut structures

Create one length or solid haircut structures

Design haircut structures

Recommend products and services

Create combined traditional and classic men's haircut structures

Reporting: directly to the business owner, Mr. Artim Ida;

your CV; this should be clear, concise yet detailed; it must include verifiable work references details such as names and contact details of previous employers;
colour scans made with a tabletop scanner of your original qualifications made at 300 DPI; photographs or scans made with mobile apps are not acceptable;
photographic evidence of your skills; these are photographs of you while working (with dates and places); you and what you are doing must be clearly recognizable in the pictures; the more pictures the better, but don’t overdo it;
if available, written employment reference on business’s letterhead which will constitute an element of preference;
Holders of a temporary visa of any kind including any bridging visas will not be considered;
