McLean Farms, a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth, 30 minutes southwest of Toowoomba, is seeking an Assistant Veterinarian to support the health, welfare, and biosecurity of our poultry operations. Specialising in livestock and food production, McLean Farms operates across various agricultural sectors, including grain, compost, and feed mill operations. **About the Role**
As an Assistant Veterinarian, you will support the Veterinarian and Poultry Farm Managers in maintaining flock health, biosecurity, and disease prevention measures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in avian medicine, animal welfare, and commercial poultry management, while working in a collaborative and progressive environment.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Conduct routine health checks on McLean Farms' flocks to monitor flock welfare and identify health issues early.
- Assist in diagnosing and treating illnesses, ensuring prompt and effective intervention.
- Support the development and implementation of vaccination programs to promote flock health.
- Conduct routine sampling and vaccine administration as part of flock health management.
- Advise and support Poultry Farm Managers to ensure biosecurity and best-practice animal welfare standards are maintained.
- Monitor and manage disease outbreaks, implementing strategies to prevent disease spread.
- Work closely with the Veterinarian to implement health and welfare programs across McLean Farms' operations.
- Continue professional development through hands-on learning and training in various poultry shed designs and management systems.

**What You’ll Need**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is essential.
- Knowledge of animal welfare standards, biosecurity protocols, and regulatory requirements related to poultry farming.
- Current C Class Driver’s License.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and dispute resolution abilities.
- Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated time management, attention to detail, self-motivation, and professionalism.
