An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive leader to manage the University Governance team within our Strategic and Governance Services Centre, based at ECU’s Joondalup campus. This fixed-term role is required for maternity cover for a 12-month period.
**This position**:
Supports the effective operation and conduct of the University’s governance framework;
Provides advice to the University Secretary in support of the governing body, Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and the senior leadership team;
Manages the executive support for Council, Academic Board and their sub-committees and other university committees;
Facilitates the University’s corporate decision-making processes and for the leadership and management of the University Governance unit.
To be considered for this role you will need to have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field with extensive experience OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation You will need to provide evidence of demonstrated experience in providing high quality and timely advice to directors/boards, senior management and staff on a diverse range of governance matters. To be successful in the role you will need to be an accomplished communicator, self-motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
Key Accountabilities
The key accountabilities can be found in the attached, and include, amongst others:
Provide advice and support to the Chancellor, Council and the Vice-Chancellor on governance matters and in accordance with the Corporate Governance Statement and other legislative and policy requirements.
Provide high quality secretariat support to Council and its related committees.
Coordinate and oversee secretariat support and corporate compliance requirements for controlled entities and other subsidiaries of the University.
Lead and manage University corporate governance and governing legislation compliance processes.
Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $132,326 to $138,384 per annum plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
