Etched specialises in the design and manufacture of architectural façade and non-combustible cladding systems. Working on commercial projects including architectural facades, feature metalworks and commercial fit outs, our projects include retail, education, high end residential and more. With locations in Victoria and New South Wales, the company is experiencing continued growth and expansion.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Design Draftsperson to work out of our Pakenham premesis.

You will be involved in the ‘Tier 2’ design of various projects and have experience with steel, timber and aluminium. You will bring your technical expertise, creativity and initiative to deliver innovative and smart engineering solutions.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Create 3D CAD models, diagrams, illustrations, technical drawings and design for production use.
- Document product design and presentation drawings for tenders, production and manufacture and sales quotes.
- Take-offs and creating bill of materials (BOMS).
- Conduct research, planning, design presentation, technical production. documentation and contractor/supplier liaison.
- Assist with production procedures.
- Manage drawing register and document control.
- Liaising with clients, architects and builders throughout the design process.

**Ideally you will have**:

- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD / SketchUp.
- Experience with mechanical design work and knowledge in manufacturing and fabrication processes including cutting, folding, welding and assembly processes, as well as a high degree of experience interpreting and preparing building plans and workshop drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret blue print documents and understand complex mathematical relationships that underpin mechanical analysis.
- Good sketching and concept generation skills and strong attention to detail;
- Experience in Sheetmetal design, in particular steel and aluminium works.
- Creative thinker with high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
- PC skills in MS-Office.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent understanding of design, forM/Function and manufacturing processes.
- Attention to detail, ability to work autonomously, think on your feet and meet deadlines.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural engineering.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, ideally in a construction engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Steel and Aluminium fabrication would be advantageous.
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards highly desirable.
- Sound problem solving skills, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
