About the Contract

Ventia is the ADF's industry partner for the repair and maintenance of Army materiel including artillery, small arms, instrument repair, night vision equipment and all armoured vehicles and variants. We currently deliver approximately 900,000 maintenance hours annually and operate a 24/7 nationwide vehicle and equipment recovery services.

About the Role

Skout Solutions are currently sourcing a qualified Fitter and Turner/Fitter Machinist to join the Ventia team on the Defence contract at the Amberley RAAF Base. The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday on a temporary assignment for up to 6 months, with the possibility for permanent work thereafter.

**Responsibilities**:

- Examine, detail and carry out work orders
- Fit and assemble parts
- Check quality of finished parts
- Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools
- Providing technical advice to equipment operators
- Repair and maintain miscellaneous equipment including small engines, and general service equipment.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Trade qualified fitter and turner (Cert III)
- Armourer experience and/or qualifications, preferred but not essential
- Small engines qualification or experience, preferred but not essential
- Current Drivers Licence
- Experience operating lathes, millers and other metal working machines
- You must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain an Australian Defence Clearance
