**SC5** Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to meet and exceed deadlines and display proactive and positive initiative and attitude.
**Role**:
- Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
- Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
- An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
**Responsibilities**:
- Cranbourne West Secondary College is seeking a compassionate, qualified and experienced School Social Worker to join our dedicated Wellbeing Team. This full-time, ongoing role focuses on supporting senior secondary students (Years 11¿12) and their families to overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
- At Cranbourne West Secondary College, the wellbeing team plays a crucial role in supporting students' growth and wellbeing so they can achieve their best academically. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and external agencies to promote mental health, strengthen family connections, improve attendance, and support successful post-school transitions.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide individual and group support for senior students experiencing social, emotional, or family-related difficulties.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop tailored support plans.
- Collaborate with families and external agencies to support student wellbeing and safety.
- Deliver early intervention and case management services.
- Support students at risk of disengagement or poor attendance with re-engagement strategies.
- Facilitate referrals to external services (e.g. mental health, housing, AOD, youth services).
- Participate in Student Support Group (SSG) meetings and care team planning.
- Assist in managing critical incidents and crisis intervention processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with departmental and professional standards.
- Advocate for students¿ needs within the school and broader community.
- Support Year 12 students with planning for transition to further education, training or employment.
