We are seeking a qualified and experienced Water Treatment Plant Operator.
The Water Treatment Plant Operator position will maintain, operate and carry out repairs of water treatment plants to efficiently achieve compliance with current plant criteria and adopted operating procedures.
We are seeking a technical specialist to assist in the maintenance and operation of Council’s water treatment and catchment assets including Bray Park, Uki and Tyalgum Water Treatment Plants; Clarrie Hall Dam; and Bray Park and Tyalgum Weirs. The ideal applicant will hold a Certificate III in Water Operations - Water Treatment.

**We are seeking someone with**:
- certificate III in Water Operations (Water Treatment) or relevant equivalent qualification and water industry experience
- demonstrated water treatment process experience including diagnosing and troubleshooting treatment process problems in sophisticated water treatment plants (such as Membrane Plants) and make process adjustments to maintain operational targets
- demonstrated knowledge of physical, biological and chemistry parameters and processes through all stages of the drinking water treatment
- laboratory testing skills including sampling, verification and calibration of complex inline process and bench instrumentation
- demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of SCADA systems
- demonstrated ability to work in a small team environment as well as work independently and without supervision when required
- demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to a broad range of people
- demonstrated knowledge of WHS and legislative requirements relating to water treatment plants and dams
