**The Department**

The Central Sterilising Service is an integral part of Alfred Health, providing a service to The Main Alfred Hospital Operating Suite, The Alfred Centre Procedural Suite, Sandringham Hospital Operating Suite and also to the wards and other departments.

Instrument technicians employed within the CSS are responsible for the processing, from decontamination through to issue, of sterile instruments and equipment used in all areas of all campuses of Alfred Health.

**The Role**

Instrument technicians employed within the CSS are responsible for the processing, from decontamination through to issue, of sterile instruments and equipment used in all areas of all campuses of Alfred Health. Staff are required to work rotating shifts, 7 days a week once completed on the Job Competency.
