**Position Information**:
Illawong Public School is a peaceful and happy school, located 27 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire. The school sits in a beautiful bush setting between the southern shore of the Georges River and the northern shore of the Woronora River. Illawong is an Aboriginal word meaning _between two waters_, referring to the Georges and Woronora Rivers. Current student enrolment is 208 and the Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 56.

The passionate teachers at Illawong Public School are committed to providing students with a contemporary education that is strongly aligned to evidence-informed practices. We have a focus on literacy and numeracy and developing students' skills in the 4Cs: communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with deep knowledge of Curriculum and demonstrated capacity to lead and promote growth and attainment in literacy and numeracy.

Capacity to lead future focused pedagogies and High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) while building a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

Inspire and mentor staff within a professional learning culture of collaboration, high expectations and improvement, with demonstrated ability to meet the needs and talents of all learners, working collaboratively with the leadership team and Principal.

Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community, to foster a culture of collaboration to strengthen partnerships both in and beyond the school with a strong commitment to the school’s culture of high expectations for all aspects of student achievement.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
