The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Assistants in Nursing (Adult Intensive Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Work collaboratively under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse and Clinical Nurse Consultant leadership team
- Obtain skills in set up, testing and disinfecting specialised equipment used in Intensive Care
- Monitor equipment and asset location, ensuring redistribution to correct location, and completion of audits as required
- Identify damaged/faulty equipment, logging and following through maintenance jobs requests

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or above (including undergraduate enrolment) in health related studies would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Work a rotational, 7-day week roster
- Work across both campuses as per operational requirements

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $59 090 - $64 699 p.a., $29.80 - $32.63 p.h.

About Us
The Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital Intensive Care Units (ICU) are specialised departments that work closely to provide high standards of care for critically ill adult patients.
The Gold Coast University Hospital Intensive Care Unit is 23 bed Level 3 ICU averaging 1200 patients per year. The unit has both an Intensive Care and High Dependency care focus.
The Robina Hospital Intensive Care Unit total number of admissions exceeds 450 per year with more than 150 of them requiring ventilation. The patient case mix includes general medical, respiratory and post-surgical. Services include all forms of ventilation, dialysis, bronchoscopy, as well as the metabolic equivalent (MET)/Code blue team, cardioversion and central line/Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line services.
