Maitland, Australia Maitland City Council Full time

**About Us**

Maitland City Council is a diverse and dynamic organisation serving one of NSW’s fastest growing LGAs. Our diverse, multidisciplinary teams plan and deliver the infrastructure and services that underpin Maitland’s thriving economy and desirable lifestyle. This role offers an experienced development contributions professional the chance to shape that growth and make a lasting impact on our community.

**About the Role**
Our Principal Development Contributions Planner plays a pivotal role in developing, managing and implementing Council’s development contributions plans. These plans fund essential infrastructure for our rapidly growing community.

As Council’s contributions specialist, you will manage our contributions systems, reviewing and preparing new contribution plans, and negotiating Voluntary Planning Agreements and Works-in-Kind Agreements.

You will lead a small, high-performing team delivering Council’s contributions function, act as the primary contact for coordinating local infrastructure contributions, and provide clear professional and legislative advice to internal and external stakeholders.

**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning, economics, commerce, project management, law, or a closely related discipline.
You bring demonstrated expertise managing complex projects from inception to delivery. Your well-developed analytical, conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills enable you to provide timely, evidence-based advice to Council’s leadership team.

Experience with the development contributions frameworks or infrastructure planning is highly desirable, though not essential, and would allow you to hit the ground running.
Importantly, you enjoy leading and mentoring a small team, coaching staff in their day-to-day activities and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

**Benefits**
This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $118,909 - $131,989 per year based on demonstrated competencies + private leaseback vehicle + 12% p.a superannuation.

Council also offers a range of other benefits for its employees including:

- Flexible work arrangements
- Fitness Passport
- Access to our Healthy Employee Program (HEP): including subsidies for programs that improve health and wellbeing
- Long Service Leave after five years
- Paid parental leave
