The Functional Security Tester will work to deliver Testing Services and Test Releases.
This would include but not be limited to working within a multidisciplinary team of Business Analysts, Program Architects, Project and Program Managers and Business Stakeholders.

**A key focus area for this role will be to**:

- Design Test strategy,
- Test Cases and perform
- Test Execution across the Test Levels.
- Have extensive experience automation testing to reduce Test Execution duration and repeat release testing across multiple Test Cycles & Releases.
- Experience with Testing in large scale Transformation Projects with expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodology will be highly advantageous.
- Understand security controls and security requirements to develop functional test cases.
- Plan test cases, execute and raise defects.
- Plan, perform and evaluate security tests from a variety of perspectives - policy-based, risk-based, standards-based, requirements-based, and vulnerability-based.
- Align security test activities with project lifecycle activities.
- Analyse the effective use of risk assessment techniques in each situation to identify current and future security threats and assess their severity levels.
- Evaluate the existing security test suite and identify any additional security tests.
- Analyse a given set of security policies and procedures, along with security test results, to determine effectiveness.
- For a given project scenario, identify security test objectives based on functionality, technology attributes and known vulnerabilities.
- Analyse a given situation and determined which security testing approaches are most likely to succeed in that situation.
- dentify areas where additional or enhanced security testing may be needed.
- Evaluate effectiveness of security mechanisms.
- Understand the benefits of using security testing standards and where to find them

**Mandatory Skills & Expieiernce**
- 5+ years in Testing
- Experience in understanding and testing of system Hardening techniques.
- Experience in understanding and testing of Authentication and Authorization techniques.
- Experience in understanding and testing of encryption methods.
- Experience in understanding and testing of firewalls and network zones.
- Experience in understanding and testing of intrusion detection and malware scanning.
- Experience in understanding and testing of data obfuscation techniques.
- Good knowledge of testing websites, interfaces, databases, and APIs
- Experience with integrated with Test Management tools and their workflows for test and defect management such as JIRA and Microfocus ALM.
- Strong verbal communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Experience with running workshops and live defects triage calls to help resolve the defects as early as possible.

**Desirable**
- ISTQB/similar qualified.
- Awareness of IT security concepts and standards.
- Experience in projects in Government Agencies.

- Experience in IT security programs.
