**About headspace**:
Stride is the lead agency for headspace Woolloongabba and Nundah. headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

headspace can help young people with mental health and wellbeing, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.

**Role Overview**:
The Community Engagement Coordinator seeks opportunities to reach out to young people and the communities that support them, to provide health education, raise mental health literacy and community awareness and link people to appropriate services.

You will develop, facilitate and evaluate a range of community events, and health and education programs designed to improve mental health literacy and community awareness of challenges faced by young people, in order to increase early identification and help them to get early access to appropriate services.

You will work closely with our clinical team, and our youth reference group, to understand the services that headspace provides, to advocate our services to both young people and the wider community.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum tertiary degree in education/ community development/ youth work/ mental health or another relevant discipline, or, an equivalent level of knowledge gained through education, training and/or experience
- Experience working with youth, with experience working in a similar role highly advantageous
- Experience in planning, developing and delivering of high-quality education, training, and community awareness programs and activities
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with and engage a variety of different people and stakeholders
- Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and story-telling skills
- Ability to identify potential funding sources and prepare the appropriate grant submissions
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
- Current Driver’s License
