The GIANTS are on an exciting journey both on and off the field. With teams in the AFL, the AFL Women’s League and Super Netball competitions, the GIANTS truly are a club like no other.
On field, the AFL team has quickly grown into one of the competition’s most exciting teams with several players becoming household names across the country. Likewise, the on-field achievements of our AFL Women’s and GIANTS Netball teams are seeing the club connect with more fans and followers than ever before.
Off field, the club’s exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.
The GIANTS’ AFL and AFL Women’s teams are based at the club’s elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

**Description**:
The role is responsible for planning and executing content across all of the club’s digital channels to support audience growth, optimise commercial value and continue to develop our relationships with our members and fans.
Products include mobile app and web management for the GIANTS’ AFL and AFLW teams as well as supporting content creation for GIANTS Netball and working across the club’s commercial, consumer, community and marketing departments.
The role is full-time and will require weekend work during throughout the football and netball seasons and may require some intra and interstate travel to attend matches and community events.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Lead digital content strategy, planning and management for AFL and AFLW programs.
- Lead and manage content roles and workloads within the department including Social Media Producer and two Video Producers.
- Lead club website and app design and management.
- Work closely with the commercial department to manage digital content production for club partners.
- Support the club’s marketing, membership, and merchandise departments with content strategies.
- Support the club’s community department and GIANTS Foundation with content strategies.
- Lead digital content for club events and special projects.
- Manage internal relationships and briefing process for club content.
- Lead written content production for club website.
- Lead data and analytics analysis for the GIANTS’ content channels.
- Focus on digital and platform growth.
- Work closely with the three teams to continue the GIANTS’ reputation for producing engaging inner sanctum content.
**Skills and Experiences**:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 1 - 2 years experience in a similar or relevant role.
- Writing and editing skills.
- Strategic content planning and project management skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of social and digital data and the impact on content production.
- Knowledge and ability to learn content management systems and back-end website and app development.
- Management skills to lead content team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Be a strategic thinker, using research and creativity in the development of targeted content.
- Attention to detail and effective time management skills are necessary.
- Working knowledge of AFL/W and/or Netball is desirable.
- Applicants need to be aware that this is not a regular 9-5 job with odd hours including weekend work part of the role.
