**PRIMARY OBJECTIVE**:
The Hatchery Maintenance Employee is responsible for supporting the provision of performing a range of maintenance duties on the infrastructure and equipment associated with Hazeldene’s Hatchery in accordance with performance expectations and/or as directed by the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor and/or delegate. All duties and associated tasks are to be performed in accordance with safety standards.
Hazeldene’s is committed to providing appropriate training and support to all of its employees. The Hatchery Maintenance Employee will actively participate in all training to reach performance objectives as outlined in this Position Description.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The below duties and responsibilities will be performed in consultation with the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor. It is expected that the Hatchery Maintenance Employee will proactively seek guidance and assistance on any of the belowitems as required:
Hatchery Maintenance Systems
1. Work to verbal and/or written instructions provided by the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor
2. Proactively raise any matters with the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor as identified, including, but not limited to opportunities for improvement, training
3. Remain up to date with new developments in hatchery equipment
4. In consultation with the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor maintain plant and equipment in satisfactory working order in accordance with established schedules and in a timely manner
5. Perform all types of maintenance including repairs and upgrades on existing/new building as directed by management and within the skills level of this role
6. Undertake works elsewhere within Hazeldene’s business or external to Hazeldene’s as directed by the management of Hazeldene’s. This may involve subsidiary companies of Hazeldene’s, external contract broiler growers or breeder farms
7. Utilise hand tools and associated equipment as may be required and ensuring that all work is performed in a safe manner
8. Work effectively as part of a team and/or with autonomy as may be required from time-to-time seeking support and direction from the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor as required
9. Required to form part of the Hatchery Maintenance Call-Out roster once appropriately trained
10. Ensure all administration and recording of data is performed to Hazeldene’s Chicken Farm guidelines and complete any paperwork required within the required timeframes.
11. Maintain confidentiality in regards to the business of Hazeldene’s Chicken Farm Pty Ltd.
Quality & OHS Systems
12. Ensure compliance to all Government Legislated requirements.
13. Report workplace hazards identified during the course of work to appropriate person according to standard operating procedures.
14. Be proactive in identifying safe work practices and workplace environment
15. Understand and adhere to Company policies in all work practices
16. Understand and implement SOP's consistent with OH&S Policies and Company policies and procedures
17. Assist the OH&S function to implement Occupational Health and Safety, aiming to eliminate injuries/incidents
18. Understand, follow and direct all quarantine and biosecurity regulations of Hazeldene’s Chicken Farm
19. Refrain from any association with other avian (bird) species or work on any other commercial poultry operation while employed with Hazeldene’s Chicken Farm unless approval has been given by the Farming Management
