**Capalaba and Pacific Pines Location**

Capalaba and Pacific Pines are two vibrant and diverse suburbs located in Queensland, Australia. While Capalaba is situated in the Redland City area, Pacific Pines is part of the Gold Coast region.

Capalaba: Nestled within the picturesque Redland City, Capalaba offers a suburban charm combined with convenient amenities. It is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and relaxed lifestyle. Capalaba boasts a range of recreational parks, including the popular Capalaba Regional Park, which features playgrounds, BBQ areas, and walking trails.

Pacific Pines: Situated on the northern end of the Gold Coast, Pacific Pines is a thriving residential community surrounded by natural beauty. The suburb is characterized by its leafy streets, well-maintained parks, and close-knit community spirit. Pacific Pines offers an array of recreational facilities, including numerous parks, playgrounds, and sporting fields, catering to the active lifestyle of its residents.

**About the role**

There are days when you will be challenged and there will be some tough moments but you will know in your heart that you are making a positive difference to a young person's life. In this role you will be providing support to young people needing a safe and supportive environment.

No two days will be the same however your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Mentoring and acting as a role model for young people;
- Helping them in building positive social skills, utilizing effective conflict management and negotiation, and building healthy relationships;
- Assisting them with their physical and emotional well-being. This includes anything from helping them prepare their meals and clean up after themselves, to just being there for them when times get tough;
- Administering program records and maintaining strict documentation in accordance with legal requirements and service policy.

The core hours of work will include night and weekend work. You will also be required to attend staff meetings and compulsory training provided by the organisation.

Remuneration for this role is $35.40- $37.20 per hour commensurate with experience.

You are passionate about the welfare of children and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them. Your compassion, resilience and calm demeanour will enable you to leave a positive impact on the lives of our young people.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications skills and experience will consist of:

- A Certificate IV in a relevant child welfare course or enrolled and working towards completion;
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge working in residential care; and/or working with young people in a child protection or community service context;
- Solid experience working with young people who have significant emotional and psychological support needs;
- Drivers Licence, P2 or above;
- Possess or has the ability to obtain a National Police Check, Blue Card (Working with Children) and a Licensed Care Services (LCS).
