**The Hospital**:
**The Role**:
The purpose of this role is to provide medical support for the multidisciplinary RCH Apheresis team in provision of Therapeutic Apheresis services within the Day medical Unit at RCH. The role will provide education and training in provision of therapeutic apheresis for children.
- Aspects of the role will include:

- Regular attendance at apheresis centre in DMU for direct clinical supervision of apheresis prescriptions, procedures and complication management to achieve competency in Therapeutic Apheresis management
- Participation in triage and management of inpatient and outpatient consultations
- Direct observation/ clinical support of apheresis procedures
- Completion of 1 quality assurance or other research project including presentation and publication at a national or international meeting related to Therapeutic Apheresis
- Completion of online quality assurance training module and assistance with the RCH Apheresis Service quality management system (including protocol review/ service monitoring /quality improvement initiatives)
- Assist the Apheresis CNC with coordination of the RCH Apheresis Service Education program - including journal club, M&M review, research activities, clinical governance meetings
- Participation in relevant ambulatory clinics according to your training program such as sickle cell clinic, oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant clinic, nephrology clinic and the associated relevant clinical meetings
- Participation in the On call Apheresis roster (supported by consultant SMS) as required

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Desirable : Advanced trainee in Haematology (RACP/RCPA), nephrology or oncology
