Primary Product Inspector

The **Primary Product Inspector** is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of primary agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. They will inspect farms, processing facilities, and distribution centers to ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect primary agricultural products to ensure they meet regulatory standards for safety and quality.
- Conduct inspections of farms, processing facilities, and distribution centers to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Document inspection results and communicate them to facility management and regulatory agencies.
- Identify potential health and safety hazards and take corrective action as necessary.
- Monitor facility operations to ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene standards.
- Train facility employees on health and safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate complaints and suspected violations of health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other regulatory agencies and law enforcement to enforce regulations and ensure public safety.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary product inspection or related field.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to primary product inspection and food safety.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect potential health and safety hazards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Demands: The Primary Product Inspector may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. They may also be required to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: The Primary Product Inspector will work in a variety of environments, including farms, processing facilities, and distribution centers. They may be exposed to unpleasant odors, loud noises, and other hazardous conditions. They may be required to work long hours and travel frequently.
