Our Mungari Gold Operations are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.
Last year we announced our expansion project, a $250m investment to expand our processing mill. This investment will extend Mungari’s mine life to 15 years and double annual production to over 200,000 ounces per year post commissioning. It’s an exciting time to join the Mungari Operations

About the roleReporting to the Senior Underground Geologist, the Mine Geologist is responsible for gathering, coordinating, and communication of all geological data at our Mungari underground mines.
Working closely with the Senior and Project Geologist you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and coordination of diamond drilling, providing data for low-risk mine design and scheduling.
Daily activities involve; performing accurate detailed underground mapping and sampling, mine data entry, ore tracking, EOM and stope reconciliations, daily visits to ROM pads to reconcile stockpiles, carrying out detailed geological and structural core logging and accepting responsibility for holes logged and the QA/QC validation of the drillholes.
The Mine Geologist will naturally train and coach the Graduate Geologists.

About youYou will be either be a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area, or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12-hour day) roster.
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Geologist with prior mining geology experience and have the following attributes.
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geosciences
- 2-3 years industry experience - mine geology (underground preferred) and grade control practices
- Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
- Understanding of geology work standards and practices
- Intermediate skills with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog or similar) and database software (acQuire or similar)
- Contractor management and familiarity with mine planning is an advantage.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills.
