**About the role**
As a Mechanical Tradesperson you will be responsible to safely maintain, repair and upgrade infrastructure on water and wastewater systems. To increase levels of performance, reliability and availability of our assets, which is in line with SA Water’s policies and procedures.
Along with this you will also be responsible for the following:
- Preventative maintenance, projects, and breakdowns
- Ensure that SA Water infrastructure is safely maintained
- Ensure projects are achieved within budget and timeframes
- Provide regular work status updates to required leaders
- Ensure all equipment and plant is well maintained for safe use
- Follow and promote SA Water OH&S standards
- Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
**About the Person**
To be considered for this role you will need to have experience as a Mechanical tradesperson in a construction or maintenance environment.
You will need to have all relevant qualifications and certificates and display a high level of written and verbal communication skills
Key requirements of the role include:
- Fitter and Turner or Mechanical Fitter trade certificate
- Experience in a maintenance environment
- Experience with pumps, hydraulics and valves
- Maintaining chemical dosing systems
- White Card is essential
- Strong knowledge of WHS is essential
- High risk licence with Forklift and EWP will be desirable
- Ability to understand technical operational problems
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite
- Any additional trades and tickets will be desirable
- SA Water requires all workers to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 (Including boosters), HEP A&B, Q Fever and Flu.
- Must be available to work an on-call and weekends as per the business needs
- Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to drive a manual transmission
