Rollingstock Test Technician

Downer is seeking an experienced and motivated **Level 2 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician**to join our Newcastle-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects across the **rail and manufacturing sectors**, where safety and reliability come first.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform NDT using ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and eddy current techniques
- Analyse and interpret inspection results, producing detailed technical reports for clients
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and industry best practices in all testing
- Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to the highest standards
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to design efficient testing processes
- Support and mentor junior technicians as needed on-site

**Selection Criteria**:

- ISO 9712 certification or equivalent qualifications in NDT or related discipline
- 3-5 years' hands-on experience in NDT, ideally within the Rail or manufacturing industry
- Proven expertise in ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant methods
- Strong analytical mindset and technical acumen
- Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to quality and safety
- Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites
