**Your new role**
Data Services is a newly established department in Fund Services that has the responsibility to establish a leading Data Governance, Management & Operations capability across all data domains in the Fund.
Reporting to the Head of Data Services, this role will establish capabilities to rollout and operate data management functions to the Fund’s Member Domain (comprising of Customer & Products Data Domains).
You will work with Data Owners and other business & Technology stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term roadmaps for the implementation of the Fund’s data management frameworks and tools, in line with the Fund strategy and departments business plans.
Some key responsibilities but not limited to;
- Lead the rollout of the data governance framework, key policies, and standards to the Customer & Products Data Domains
- Monitor and report on the performance of data management initiatives and ensure timelines and milestones are met; identify areas for improvement and making recommendations for change where necessary.
- Develop & implement plans to streamline dataflows, eliminate silos & redundancy by creating Foundational Data Assets (e.g. Common Data Model) on the Fund Data Platform, and rationalising the Fund’s data estate in the medium-long term
- Works with external partners to define minimum requirements, terms and SLA’s for data related services, and ensure the delivery of quality outcomes whilst building a strong rapport and trust, and facilitating a positive experience in dealing with the Fund
- Ensure operational SLA’s for relevant processes (monitoring, data quality issues, exceptions, timely data delivery etc.) are met & exceeded
- Set operational standards and measurement indicators for data collection, transformation, storage, use, and deletion in-line with the strategy, data governance framework and legal/compliance requirements.
- Establish incident & risk management processes to proactively identify, assess & monitor data risk, integrity & quality; implement & embed strong controls, and ensure controls are tested regularly to ensure they meet all obligations.
- Implement remediation plans to reduce/eliminate data risk and deliver tangible data integrity & quality improvements
- Manage relationships with key data consumers to ensure their needs are being met and the data they need is available in a timely manner.
- Work with external partners to define minimum requirements, terms and SLA’s for data related services, and ensure the delivery of quality outcomes whilst building a strong rapport and trust, and facilitating a positive experience in dealing with the Fund
- Capabilities - define the people capabilities and skills required to deliver on the Fund’s Strategy. Recruit & develop a team of highly capable people who will drive a culture of continuous improvement and the delivery of outcomes to successfully deliver the Fund’s strategic ambitions.
- As a member of the Data Services Leadership team, contribute to establishment of the function and development of its capabilities, and contribute towards uplifting the Fund’s overall data capabilities and data risk posture.
**What you’ll need**
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering data governance and data management initiatives in any senior management capacity
- Deep understanding of the end-end data lifecycle, data management methodologies and implementing governance frameworks
- Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization, experience in the rollout and usage of data governance and related tools.
- Experience/knowledge of data governance frameworks like DCAM
- Knowledge of data modelling methodologies like Inmon, Kimball, Data Value 2.0 will be valued
- Experience managing enterprise-wide customer & related data (structured & unstructured) in a complex environment spanning multiple internal & external systems and data providers
- Experience working with modern data management and data governance tools
- Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others.
