Lab Technician

**The Role**

This position is responsible for the collection, analysis and documentation of product samples for our finished goods, ensuring product safety and quality by providing quality assurance, manufacturing, and technical support.
- Conduct a large volume of testing of product samples prior to product release. Escalate quality concerns. Ensure all required testing analysis is carried out as per the defined schedule and ensure results are reviewed and accurate.
- Ensure results records are kept up to date and all samples are issued an ID.
- Maintain high standards of sample integrity.
- Prioritize work and delegate tasks within the micro lab to ensure that all requirements are met.
- Ensure appropriate stock levels, including laboratory and cleaning supplies.
- Prepare scheduling of labour and conduct training of casuals
- to ensure all learning competencies are met.
- Act as a supervisor to casual workers in the lab
- Support the wider Beverages Technical team with compiling data and information for root cause analysis when product quality issues arise.
- Effective cleaning, preventive maintenance and housekeeping of equipment and/or work area to meet defined workplace requirements.
- Assist with record keeping, reporting and documentation as required.
- Identify and report process faults.
- Be available to assist internal and external auditors.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the micro lab.

**Skills & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications (or working towards obtaining) in food science or food technology.
- An ability to delegate work to others and manage priorities.
- Experience in laboratory techniques is highly regarded.
- FMCG or food manufacturing industry experience is highly regarded.
